I was listening to Scarlett Johanson's debut album and I can't still believe Waits let her cover his songs "

I like Scarlett Johannson"s CD. It is very different and quite exciting. I am not sure whay all the bad feelings toward it.

Prejudices against a singing actress Rolling Eyes

I haven't listened to the whole Waits' discography and i prefer use my time in the original Waits.

(I trust inyour good taste. Micah P Hinson is great! Wink )

all songs on her album sound the same to me. in one word: one huge song that lasts about an hour-after a few minuts I borrring She treid too hard to mimic Waits' singing style and she bad idea in my opinion. Maybe she's a good actress but a poor singer.

but I'm Very Happy you like it!

first listening round - third song. too early for an impression.

i did love 'neon golden' back in 2002, but did not play it very often. somehow their music gets "known" quite quick and i feel it looses attraction after listening about ten times. curious if it will be the same with the new album...

first listening
i enjoyed a few tracks, have to listen further
the opening instrumental is beautiful, my first impression was : some songs sound like some french "chansons", don't know why i've got that impression, it's not necesseraly positive Rolling Eyes
anyway i think it still is worth listening to them

what i really dislike are the too numerous background vocals

... it is a bit "poppy" and has no real center, isn't it? Just falls into single pieces. I shouldn't like it, but somehow I keep listening to it ...

Did enjoy the Micah P Hinson as well, I have to say! Very Happy
